    A Guide to Our Multi

No one asked us but the answer is yes, you should be taking a daily multivitamin. Anyone who pays attention to their health knows which types of food they should and should not eat to achieve a proper diet. However, it isn’t uncommon for most people to be unsure which vitamins and minerals they’re actually receiving from the foods they consume — let alone if those foods offer enough benefits to help fill in the gaps.

Vitamins and minerals that you consume through food are considered micronutrients. Your daily intake of micronutrients are consumed in small amounts but are definitely needed. If you’re not getting enough from your diet alone it may be time to consider additional resources to avoid adverse health problems. If you are wanting to make sure you’re getting all the macronutrients you need, we’ve created our own Multivitamin to help.

So when you are trying to select the perfect multivitamin, we think it is important to know exactly what you should look for. First thing’s first.

    Vitamin D

    Iron

Not just for your average muscle daddy. Iron helps transport oxygen in the blood and is present in muscle cells. Men should aim to get 8 mg daily.

    Magnesium

The vitamin that keeps you moving just as much as your iced coffee. Magnesium plays a role in blood pressure, glucose control, nerve function, muscle function, energy production, DNA and RNA synthesis, muscle contractions, and heart rhythm. Men should try to get 400 mg.

    Vitamin B12

It’s no secret that we gay men are active and if you find yourself needing an energy boost, Vitamin B12 may be the answer. Deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, weight loss, loss of appetite, neurological changes, dementia and memory problems, depression, confusion, and difficulty with balance. Men should get 2.4 mcg of B12 on a daily basis.
